Grains Of Sand Poem by Nana Cruz

Grains Of Sand

Rating: 2.5

If my tears were grains of sand
I would be buried in a vast desert
were men will tread but will find no hope..

If my heart were made of glass
It would be the finest sparkling powder
that would drift in the wind, forever trying to find you

If my soul were a hummingbird
Your lips would be its source of life
and it will vainly try others until starvation takes its hold..

If my mind were on fire
your indifference would be its kindle and your silence its firewood
but your cruel words like diesel..

If my pain were a lion
It would devour every man in its path
lusting for their flesh.. yet never satisfied...

And If your love was mine
My heart, mind and soul would find peace
and my tears and pain would be gone forever...

But as a heart cannot be made of glass
Neither can your love ever be mine
So I shall learn to live with the raging beast that is my pain..
And feed my delicate soul with other lips and tender words,
keep you diesel out of my mind..
and maybe a man brave enough to tread my desert will pull me out from beneath the sand..
