First Love Poem by Sandra Damani

First Love

You happened in my life
like no other.
Though it wasn't love at first sight
It couldn't have got any better.
Just a sight of you
made my heart pound
In my mind, you
Went round and round
Just a glance from you
Sent my heart a racing
If there magic ever was
It was a LOVE like ours
Such STRONG chemistry
Fell in love helplessly.
Though you started it
And concluded it
It was king-size passion
That defied all reason.
We might have been the envy
of folk, so many.
Our attraction opposed rationality
but sadly ended drastically.
It's best to focus
not on the broken,
but that to love
I'd reached the closest.
So let me thank
the medium of verse,
that on a positive note,
I can end this love course
