Stand before this ocean, on a cliff face of probabilities
The breeze against my face, the expanse of many seas
Tip my brow to the air, and take a step from this place
Fall just a moment, before flight catches upward grace
To on upon this wind, over the blue, green and grey
Toward the sky in a majestic dance, of the high foray
Breathing and including, everything I see from here
A place I have not decided to go, nothing left to fear
Touching the limit of my rising, above calming waters
Remembering back to happier times, before one falters
Of a time when she held my heart, before my wings
That her spirit lives in me now, a memory that stings
Simply a passing thought, as I quicken across this land
Speeding passed this place, over desert with heart in hand
Brush the mountain top, with fingers that are exploring
The cold of snow, I feel on tips, as I start upward soaring
So much higher to almost clasp a star, before I dive down
Descend in acceleration, to break through oceans crown
To this new landscape beneath waves, that crash above
Illumination of tiny lives, call to me in curiosity and love
Witnessing the gigantism of the whale, in elegant passing
Touch and feel texture, skin to hold the hottest heart beating
Break away from this moment, and rising to the air again
Silhouetted against the sun, the light of my now underlain
Over scorched desert landscape, and snow peaked hills
The converse of foreign accents, and the unfamiliar thrills
Conjugate these images, to a singular mind, of the boundless
And witness this new found freedom, of a world so timeless
Experience an air born expedition, of everything in this world
To spear head a cloud, to fall whilst feeling that I float uncurled
To never be the imprisoned of gravity, bounds that don’t apply
What would this be, to stand by the cliff, lift a foot, and fly?
What a masterpiece! I felt like I was flying along with you, and experiencing the world as you did, touching the whale and the snow on the mountain top. I would like to give it a score way above 10 but alas.......... Love, Fran xx
