Fly Away Poem by Kathryn Miller

Fly Away

Rating: 4.8

I wish i could spread my wings,
And fly away from this harsh place,
I dont need to stay any longer,
For all i see here is pain and hurt,
I want to fly high the wind on my face,
With no worries and no where i have to be,
I want to leave this hell i have caged myself inside,
Curled around pain, my body twist with every sore,
Locked inside, my wings crushed against my back,
Kept inside this evil place, this evil hell,
I want to spread my wings and fly 'til i am outta sight,
But sometimes in order to fly away,
We must earn our wings,
So i look up to the sky and ask the Lord,
Have i done something wrong? ,
Did i offend the to a point of such madness? ,
Lord, please release me into your skies and let me be free,
And to that the cage opened and i crawled out,
My wings were white now, like i had never seen,
And i lifted off the ground and gazed down upon my cage,
Then i flew as high as i could and thanked the lord.
