Fly to California

California's so far away
The waterside
And fireflies
And sunny days

California's where I'd like to be
For from you
Nothing to do
But find me

You say you love me
Then set me free
You've clipped my wings
But they've got the strength to
Fly to California

California's near the sea
The days are long
The waves are strong
There's room enough for me

California's where I'll run off to
I'll be long gone
You'll hear my song
There'll be nothing you can do

You say you love me
Then set me free
The harder you squeeze
The more I beg you please
The longer you make me stay
The farther my mind runs away
You've clipped my wings
But they've got the strength to
Fly to California.

Senec and Plato call me from thy lore
To perfect wealth, my wit for to endeavour.
