Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is a technique
to recover gas and oil from shale rock.
Drilling is done down into the earth to get the peak
amount of gas released up to the well airlock.

Into the rock a high-pressure water mixture
is injected to release the gas on the insides.
Water, sand and chemicals are injected to make a fissure
in the rock at high pressure where the gas resides.

The price of gasoline in the U.S. is well below $2 a gallon.
