In the darkest black of night
I heard you creep towards my bed
As I heard your footsteps
It was one small tear I shed
I wanted to scream and cry out loud
For everyone to hear
As I heard your footsteps
Slowly creeping near
I pulled my quilt above my head
And closed my eyes real tight
I wished that I was somewhere
Anywhere but here tonight
And as I heard your footsteps
Stop right beside my bed
I wished somehow I could have stopped you
Anything at all I could have said
But you did pull down the covers
And you held me down so tight
And once again a piece of me
Was taken away that night
Why you did this to me
I will never know
Why you forced yourself upon me
And wouldn’t let me go
You stole away my innocence
And ripped my heart in two
You stole away my innocence
Oh Father, how could you?
