Footsteps Poem by bryan wallace

Footsteps

Deserted beach,
Dawn's half-light -
Sunlight breaking,
Rippling waves -
Seagulls diving.
I'm walking -
Lost in thought.
I stop,
Mid-stride -
Look behind me -
My footprints
On virgin sand.
Here for now -
Soon washed away
By rising tide.

Nothing's permanent,
Everything's eroded -
Enjoy the moment.
