For Freedom Poem by Michael John Cook

For Freedom

For every battle fought and won
There is left a family without a son
For every patch of land seized by another
There is left a homeless grieving mother
For every old tradition banned or repressed
There ceases humanities own progress
For every bad deed that is left unpunished
A person dies with no final wish
A cause as noble as freedom I have yet to find
So let the fight rage on, we will win in time
