For Granted Poem by Tessa Eichhorst

For Granted

Sorrow-filled eyes stand before you today, wishing
things would have gone differently. 'I wear my heart
on my sleeve, ' is what you were told. Than you took
me for granted when I loved you so.

I asked you for you heart and you sold me a lie. I
gave you my life and you couldn't even give me
the time. The time to be loved, cared for, and
adored. Instead all you could do was stare from
afar and ignore.

So now I ly, eyes wide open, tears streaming down.
My heart has been ripped open and you've walked
out of my life without a sound.
