Long necked Mystery,
Magic wand,
Making still waters,
Come alive under the sun,
Graceful miracle, white purity,
That glides into serenity,
Romantic past, long gone,
And yet, like love,
Your beauty never ending,
Your secret never won.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The Swan is the symbol of the poetic movement called Modernism. That in Latin America gave the world some of its greatest poets. For the founder of that movement, Ruben Dario, the Swan represents a sense of purity and faultlessness, very dear to me. I humbly hope I have been able to convey some of this intense love of Swan feeling in this simple poem.
