For My Own Good Poem by Erwick Brandon

For My Own Good

Once more we say goodbye again.
And I cannot breathe again.
Tell me exactly what I have to do
to make you stay?
I know you have to do
what you have to do.
But...I'm lonely.
Ever since you told me.
I hope and pray that I
will be okay.
But not today.
My wish is that you find
some sort of peace of mind.
And I...will try too
I have no choice but to.
Carrying on the best I can,
living on without my best friend.

Oh why can't you stay?
I know why but please stay.
I feel like a part of me has died.
I don't want to say goodbye.

I know I should let her go
For her own good
I will never let her go
For my own good

Looking at your photograph.
I wish we took more photographs.
To hold your perfect hands once more in mine
I'd give my life.
You will never find
another love like mine
So please...don't go looking
I beg you please don't go searching.
I just don't know what I would do,
if there was no hope for me and you.

Tell me that you'll stay
with me for always.
Please no more goodbyes
Can I have one more try?

I know I should let her go
For her own good
I will never let her go
For my own good

I know I should let her go
For her own good
I will never let her go
For my own good

I will never let you go
It's for my own good
Please never let me go
It's for my own good
