Oh, Heavenly Father,
Thy Name be Hallowed;
There at my birth,
my brother soon followed;
Together we grew,
as we each learned to walk;
Our first words to each other,
were simply baby talk;
Upon our feet,
together we stood;
The first playmate,
in our childhood;
Had many friends to play,
as we learned to read and write;
Then came our labored work,
in the blistering heat and scorching sunlight;
His life was shared in many ways,
from beginning to the end;
I thank you for the time you gave,
to the family and to each friend;
From the deepest part within me,
to you I come in prayer;
Though my heart be clothed in sorrow,
Still, our love is in your care;
Blessed Father, who art in Heaven,
join us together again someday;
Holy Father, bless the soul of my brother,
Floyd Garfield Sampson, I pray.
Amen,
Amen.
