For Their Love Of Home Poem by Francis Duggan

For Their Love Of Home

For their love of home them I can only admire
To see other lands they do feel no desire
Beyond their homeplace or hometown no wish for to live elsewhere
Or even travel for awhile in the big World out there
Content to form relationships and raise their children in their place they call home
And never wish to see the World's great Cities such as London or New York or Paris or Rome
Or learn of life beyond their hometown or homeplace
Where theirs is a known as well as a loved face
They never wish to grow old in cities far away
From where they first looked on the bright lamp of day
Where they were born and raised they feel they belong
Their love of place in them remains ever strong
They live and grow old near friends and family
And the bigger World out there they have no wish to see.
