For Years



For years I tried very hard
and our love I cannot stop
where in my heart I carried you along,
from Cape Town to far in Pretoria,
to forget again and stop the longing,
we both did waste decades with others
where in my soul there is a thirst for you,
in my heart I yearn for you again and again
and our love I cannot stop
