For You Poem by Nicholas Hrynchuk

For You

I've made promises for you,
And I've kept them pretty well,
And no matter what you do,
You usually talk me out of it

I tried to help you,
Guess i shouldn't have,
Cause the next thing I knew,
You said you hated me,
And i felt my heart crush

I had a dream,
I asked you to marry me,
But before your answer came out,
I woke up to see,
That I wasn't doing what I've wanted to after all

I'm so sorry,
I still love you though,
Some say you're just stressed,
But I want to know,
Why I haven't lost my mind

I hope you love me back,
If you don't I'll die inside,
And I'll want to stop this ride,
This one with huge falls and twists,
The ride they call life
