Forbidden Emotion. Poem by Maria Shaw

Forbidden Emotion.

I hide
I have no need of company
I have no need of lies
I hide
Beneath a mask
Camouflaged
In a world of fantasy
Far away from harsh reality.

My secret smile
Hidden from the world
My frown
My pain
My anguish
Hidden behind a veil
My torment I can't reveal
I'm trapped behind this mask
I cannot reach you.

I wonder do you see me
Do you even hear me
Do my eyes hypnotize
Do you see deep inside
Can you read my mind
Do you fantasize
I wonder
Will I ever reach you.
