Forever Poem by Annie Ortiz

Forever

You try to run, you try to hide,
From a voice you couldn't satisfy.
That was me, always needing more,
And taking too much just like I had before.
But this feels like the end,
These wounds that I can't mend,
I just can't fight any longer.

She broke you over and over
She toyed with you till in the end you broke her
I didn't want to be found,

But you chased me down and broke in just when,
I was done believing,
That you cared so much now
Though you were still saying,
My sunlight burns inside out
I feel dead inside and
Help me now, tell me how
How can this last forever.
Forever.

I ignored your signs, but opened every door
Yet I couldn't find what I searched for
I want to talk, but you turn and run,
Every move I make is the wrong one
You always made me have a next mistake
I know you'll hate me longer

She broke you over and over
She toyed with you till in the end you broke her
I didn't want to be found,

But you chased me down and broke in just when,
I was done believing,
That you cared so much now
Though you were still saying,
My sunlight burns inside out
I feel dead inside and
Help me now, tell me how
How can this last forever.

You gave me so much more
Than I could ever ask for,
But I turned and followed
The road that left me hollow
And then you hated me
And wanted me to go
Leave you alone

You chased me down and broke in just when,
I was done believing,
That you cared so much now
Though you were still saying,
My sunlight burns inside out
I feel dead inside and
Help me now, tell me how
How can this last forever.
Forever.
