Forever Flowing Free... Poem by Elizabeth Barry

Forever Flowing Free...

Forever flowing free

Drowning in the savage sea
No one does come to rescue me,
I’m trying hard to stay a float
No one is in sight, not even a boat.

Fiercely the waves they thrash my face
I fight and I try to find my pace,
Pulling me down to unknowns in the deep
I fight so hard for my strength to keep.

The raging waters take their hold
I am tired I am hungry and I am cold,
Hold on, hang on, fight on I say
You’ll make it through the storm this way.

Beaten, battered shattered and scared
She hung on and she dared,
To take the storm for all it’s worth
She made it back to land, the earth.

And now she lives just like the sea,
Forever flowing free ……
