Were we bad
or just bad timing?
Did you mean to hurt me,
raise your hand to me
and throw me around?
Did you mean to break me,
and make me feel pain
that struck me to my core?
Did you ever care about me
or was I just an object
for you to take your anger out on?
Was your love real
or was it even love at all?
I hope you realize,
it wasn't easy for me to leave you.
Know that it took all my strength
to walk out the door and never return.
And although you begged for me back,
I knew you could be replaced.
I was stronger than I thought
and stronger than you said I wasn't.
And now, I've found someone better,
who treats me with respect.
He's happy to have me around
and loves me when I'm a mess.
I'm in a better place now
and I hope you are too.
Just know that I have moved on
to someone better than you.
