Forget Poem by Ann Dewyze

Forget

I’d forgotten again today
To buy coffee and sugar
But I remembered the sound of your laugh
And then I forgot to pay my rent
But I always remember the day that we met
I forgot the cookies in the oven, burnt them to a crisp
I haven’t forgotten your hair,
Tangled in between my fingers
Forgot what I wanted to say,
In the middle of a sentence
If only I could forget you
like I forget where I put my keys
