Forgive Me O, Friend Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Forgive Me O, Friend

Rating: 5.0

Forgive me o, my dearest friend
For pushing you to the corner or dead end
You were taken to smoking
And then to hashish and smacking

What kind of harm did me to you?
You were to pass all ordeals through
Was it intentional on my part?
Or was a just thought with wrong start?

I must blame my self first
As your parent had put enough of trust
That I shall help him till the last
I took him to deep and dark valley very fast

Was it an ignorance or fine show?
We wanted to be with time and grow
We never knew its ill effects
Just followed bad ways with acts

Not that alone I should be blamed for what has happened
The controversy had already taken place and sharpened
There was talk of the two and we were singled out
Shamed all along as there was nothing more to talk about

When it became know to us we acted very intelligently
We did not loose nerves and reacted very gently
We started to come out of its ill effects
Left everything coolly and preferred not to react

It worked well with strong support from all over
Parent too were sympathetic and provided cover
We did earnestly what ever we could to avoid bad show
The dirt of the river was removed so as to facilitate smooth flow

There has to be cross and double checks on movement
When child enters youth and waits for sweet moment
If he gets good company and proper environment
Everything can run smoothly and there may not be any room to resent

The comparisons are bold and vivid like you were taken to smoking. The tao, the climax; the first quatrain is captivating; the outcome in the last lines woven complete. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day! / Wow! you have lots of poems, Sir. Congratulations!

Every bad way has an ill outcome. If a child has the proper environment and indulge good company, he has a better chance at life, and can learn the meaning of true forgiveness and love. Thanks.
