Forgotten Dreams Poem by Geneva Henderson

Forgotten Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Do you know?
Why she sings in the garden
Of Forgotten dreams?
Forever waiting
Retracing the night
Eyes closed
When she lost her soul?

Fraught transcendence in another's eyes
Broken, dead, cracked
Mirrors
Portals to her bleak world

She aches in the cold,
Winter's bitter anger
Waiting for her
Messiah to save her again
Push her through the fire
Make her pure
Once more

Do you know?
why she sings in the garden
Of Forgotten Dreams
Forever waiting
Retracing the night
Eyes closed
When she lost her soul?

A vampire's kiss under cloudy
Skies, sun failing to warm
Pale, corpse skin
She loved him them
Wanting to be with him
Into eternity
Nothing binding her
lavels left behind in the dust
Of a gentle blood-kiss

Do you know?
Why she sings in the garden
Of Forgotten Dreams?
Forever waiting
Retracing the night
Eyes closed
When she lost her soul?
