Forgotten Memories Poem by G.B. Smith

Forgotten Memories

Rating: 5.0

in the cold mist and in the dead of night
I stood for hours waiting for your reply

we stood face to face and talked as lovers do
you told me you loved me but in your heart

you felt unsure of our tomorrows until I wept
then you cringed at the thought of my being hurt

however you turned to walk away but stopped
I believed you when you said you'd be back soon

now four hours later I finally got a clue
because now I am just a forgotten memory

Sigh...
