Foss Class Reunion Poem by Marilyn Lott

Foss Class Reunion

Have you been to a class reunion?
Can you imagine what it would be like
If you hadn’t seen classmates for 50 years
I doubt you would know most on sight

Elaine recently had this experience
Oh, look at her sweet young face
Of course she is still very beautiful
It was a time that she can never replace

Looking at class pictures is so much fun
Trying to remember all the names
Remembering too the style of clothes
Oh my, nothing was ever the same

Getting together for so many stories
Hearing the line “Remember when? ”
Things seemed simpler back in the day
Nothing will be so simple again

Studying a face from across the room
And thinking, “Why I know that face”
And then you hear the voice and
You recall a certain time and place

Sharing too good food once again
Standing in line like you did before
Yes, there’s nothing like a class reunion
To put you back in school once more!
