Four Grey Walls Poem by Juan Olivarez

Four Grey Walls

Four grey walls is all I see,
Day after lonely day.
Outside the Mojave beckons to me,
But within theses walls I have to stay.

Four grey walls that's my life,
Lying on my bed.
Day after lonely day,
Slowly going, out of my head.

These walls daily close in on me,
Slowly driving me insane.
And I never got it through my head,
How much I miss the rain.

I can't bear this anymore,
Inside I'm dying fast.
These four grey walls are killing me,
How much longer can I last.

I can identify with the feeling in this poem- very well expressed. I hope you can break through these gray walls- it reminds me of when I was in seclusion. You do a great job of getting across how it feels to be confined- I only wish it isn't true because it sounds so sad.I hope you get to break through those walls very soon-I can almost feel the pain expressed in this poem- I give it a 10. Take care and best wishes, Claudia
