Four Seasons And You Poem by John Holdoway

Four Seasons And You

In the spring, our love was new
Raring to go and rule the world
The trees stood tall and fresh with green
Flowers too scented the air
Raindrops fell making the leaves clean
Life awakens from hibernation but with care

Spring turns into summer, the sun is high in the sky
The landscape is bathed in glorious colours abound
Children play, their cheerful voices are pleasant sounds
Birds are flying to and fro, to feed their precious young,
their life has just begun

Autumn arrives the leaves are turning beautiful shades
They are falling from the trees
Animals start to store up food for the winter months
The winds arrive to shed the trees of their remaining leaves
And we enjoy the splendor of this season
After all it is heaven sent, so we enjoy it with good reason

Winter arrives, with icy winds and snow
Beautiful to look at if you have nowhere to go
But snowball fights and snowman building keep the kids amused
We sit by the open fire thinking of months gone by
We’ve have had a lovely year and raise a glass to the next
I hold you close to me and whisper “You’re The Best”
