Fractured Footprints Poem by rhiannon fisher

Fractured Footprints

the context in which you play yourself
unfold in conquest of your remnants
you demean your own heartbeat
a shy eye delusional freedom
a random obedience to lonely's highest form of degradation
an empty platter on imagination's table
you mince like molasses
to soak and struggle in her furthest glance
a splinter in her grasping hands
a mimic of radiance, undeserved
life as rehearsal; as actions overcome by malnourished words
your fear disintegrates plural solitude
refuse to let her leech onto your skin and feel the warmth of sweetness, soon to be massacred
to walk with fractured footprints on glass shattered ocean frames, as tides shreak in mild-mannered amusement at the tickle of blood's thick heartbreak
relinquish control on broken idleness
gregarious, as planted seeds
on architecture's level field i will build you a house,
just like the rest, empty and open, afraid of the inside;
it's crushable walls a reminder of organic simplicity;
the reminder of smile's salvation;
you mustn't forget that her luminescent presence is much brighter when lightening strikes; for it alligns the lies that words so worthlessly wasted
so she can see what darkness regretfully evaded
