Free Spirit Poem by Lu Vernezze

Free Spirit

A free spirit is what she was
She drifted in the wind
No worries where she was travelling to
No worries where she'd been

She'd often get up in the night
Pack all her things and go
A traveler is what she was
No one to tell her 'No'

She never hurt nobody
She wouldn't harm a fly
You could often hear her singing
Her voice soft, like a velvet lullaby

She never showed her upset
She'd smile through her tears
A beautiful creature she was
She disappeared soon out of here

I often wonder where she is now
I often dream she's here
Or walking in the sunshine
Or skipping on a pier

I'm glad i met such beauty
Though i never knew her name
Perhaps she was an angel
Others often said the same

An angel looking out for others
To take to heaven soon
She makes me think it may not be too bad
Maybe we could dance up on moon

When i think of her i smile
And appreciate everything i have
Don't think about the rubbish things in life
The good always out-ways the bad.
