Freedom Bird Poem by Kevin Patrick

Freedom Bird

Rating: 5.0

and What do birds see when they fly?
Scouting along infinities backyards
Canada... America...Mexico?
no, they see only land
one land
and only one land
they don't see the hubris in nations
or divisions of false geography
sliced into economic
security
lines do not stretch into chalk
meticulously etched
by testosterone
To a bird south is warm
and north is cool,
it is all just trajectory
of syntax called
one home.
They only state they know
is natural homeostasis
flagpoles are something to perch on
and rub our feces accordingly.
undisputedly they understand that
Patriotism will never feed their hatchlings
territory is just a tree
and even that is incidental
But most importantly they understand
There can be no barriers
just sky to fall on
For Birds need to walls
only freedom.

If humans too feel same way as birds do! Freedom has no walls and barriers. Excellent thoughts impressively penned. Thanks for sharing.
