What if I said no more water and no more food
What if I said no more clothes and no more shoes
What if blood was to drip in every corner of your lands
What if you saw your child die in your own hands
What if you saw your house being broken
What if you died before you were awoken
What if your child went out and never came back home
What if it was you standing there facing an army alone
What if a child was blown apart right in front of you
What if that child was yours but there was nothing you could do
What if your parents were shot dead in front of your eyes
What if the whole world closed their ears to your cries
What if your mother was crying but you couldn't wipe her tears
What if your sister was naked but their was nothing to wear
What if your stone couldn't harm their tanks
What If bombs and bullets were to hit your lands
What if this was happening to you instead
What if one day you found your family dead...

I would like to translate this poem
a balanced well rhymed and strong poem it lovingly and imploringly seeks peace in the poets homeland. a well written and touching reminder of the myriad horrors and mayhem unleashed in a great country... the cradle of civilization stands denuded and ravished. so sad v nice lines liked
