Friend Poem by Danette Frenz

Friend

All I want is a friend,
To share with,
All my dreams and hopes.
My fears, my pain
My darkest times
And bright sunny times.
Will you be my friend?
My muse and inspiration?
The one I can’t wait to see
And tell my day’s mundane things.
Please be my friend.
What is it like to connect again?
Met many years ago, but went our different paths.
And now we’ve met again, of what have we to gain?
A friendship like no other,
We laugh and talk like old times,
The minutes-not a bother.
Like magnets that stick, or mirrors that reflect,
We’re so alike, yet so different,
To connect, or deflect?
Once friends, then lovers, now friends again.
Thank you for being there,
Someone that cares,
That’s all that I need,
A great friend indeed.
