Friend Or Foe
Does twilight surrender us to these games?
Or has fate tried to make right what was wrong
Shall destiny rewrite our names?
Is this were we belong?
As the sun dawns
Will it be just a dream within a dream?
Two lovers left as pawns
Perhaps two souls wanting to be redeemed
Which path is right, which way is wrong
Knowing what is, is
And what was…. Was
Or is it here we both belong?
Fate, destiny, and dreams
Three deadly words that can destroy
Star light and moon beams
Friend or foe?
This deep poem, so rich in feeling, about two opposites deserves this quotation by Shakespeare. If not Juliet, who can say: ' My only love, sprung from my only hate! / Too early seen unknown, and known too late! / Prodigious birth of love it is to me/ That I must love a loathed enemy.'?

That last stanza is a succinct question-begging gentle punch; pensive, flowing, lovely to read as ever P. t x
fate overtakes us before our will destiny accompanies the painful twitch dream fulfils the band and smile but from a distance…. friend or foe still a mystery...... so well expressed…
