From Day One Poem by Sinead Gillan Clarke

From day one,
you have always been there,
No matter how much I annoy you,
for you it has never been fair.

You have given me so many chances,
You are always wanting me to come through,
And even sometimes when I say yes and mean no,
I feel like I’m getting closer to you.

When I see you gorgeous face,
My heart starts to pound real fast,
And the only thing I think at that point,
Is how long can this feeling last?

And even if that feeling doesn’t last very long,
I feel as if my life is great,
But if I can never feel that feeling again,
I guess that is what’s meant by fate.
