From Kitty Hawk.... To Titanic Poem by Kevin Patrick

From Kitty Hawk.... To Titanic

Rating: 5.0

Once, America was a plane named kitty hawk
Blazing a trail through cumulous surfs
Boundlessly galivanting the skies limits
Ahead of kings that bleed the earth
And tired empires that never slept
It was dexterities, and lithe
With the sprit of saint Louise in its sleeve
Its conquered heavens without a czar
And seemed to be heading for the stars

It seemed to be rising, rising always rising

But now…Now America is a boat called the Titanic
A bloated delinquent of hubris
Cruising on its shallow brittle ego
Piloted by a spineless steel of ruthlessness
Hitting an iceberg of hate and fury
Now she's laborious and overwrought
Overcrowded by a melting pot
Ignorance is saved, from the crushing blue waves
The innocent is drowned as freedom marks their grave

And now she's sinking, sinking always sinking
