From The Old English Root Word Geolu - The Color Yellow

Yellow: A Color's Tale

In the ancient hues of Geolu's embrace,
A pigment woven through time's endless chase,
Yellow, vibrant, a canvas to convey,
Meanings diverse in cultures far away.

In Neolithic whispers, forty-five millennia past,
Yellow's pigment found, a dye that would last,
From handprints on caves to symbols bold,
A color's tale, in history, unfolds.

In the United States, it shines so bright,
A beacon of joy, in the day's warm light,
Happiness, optimism, and warmth it bestows,
As yellow's glow in the heartland grows.

Yet in Egypt's sands, and Latin's lament,
Yellow finds solace where sorrows are sent,
Linked to death, a mourning shroud,
In other lands, where it's spoken aloud.

In Germany's gaze, with envious eyes,
Yellow ignites jealousy, where bitterness lies,
A color of wanting, a covetous hue,
In shadows of envy, it reveals what's true.

China's emperors, so regal and grand,
For centuries, in yellow, they stand,
Royalty's robe, a majestic attire,
Yellow's imperial, never to tire.

In the East, in whispers so hushed,
Yellow's allure in desire is hushed,
In chambers of passion, its secrets it keeps,
A color of longing, where the night never sleeps.

At traffic's command, it's a warning sign,
Yellow's caution, in lines it defines,
A pause in the rush, a safety decree,
Yellow's vigilance, for all to see.

In faiths and beliefs, it finds its place,
Yellow's grace in divine embrace,
Hindu gods and Egypt's sun,
Yellow's reverence, in worship, is spun.

Buddha's complexion, radiant and gold,
In Buddhist lore, the tales are told,
Temples adorned, in saffron's sway,
Yellow's serenity, where prayers convey.

Yet shadows linger, where darkness prevails,
Duplicity's mask, where deceit unveils,
Greed and cowardice, in yellow's wake,
A mirror reflecting the choices we make.

In art's tapestry, where history's ink flows,
Executioners clad, in yellow's repose,
Judas, a figure of betrayal and strife,
In yellow's cloak, he wove his life.

In biblical days, when banners took flight,
Yellow signaled battles, under the light,
The War Angel Michael, a radiant hue,
In visions of yellow, courage anew.

So, Geolu, your story profound and vast,
In cultures and ages, forever steadfast,
From joy to sorrow, in each shade you play,
A color of life & Smiley Faces in the world's grand array.
