Frozen. Poem by Tatiana Elliott

Frozen, you’re frozen
You’re stuck in the snow
You try to escape
Each time doesn’t show
You sink deeper and deeper
Always wondering why
Each day you give up
Convinced this is your life

Your hearts cold and hurting
Feels no hope nor warmth
Loves chipping away
You're brittle at your core

Your mind is confused
Always wanting escape
But the frost from your thoughts
Keep you locked in that cage

No one knows that you’re trapped
But you can’t find a cure
You’re stuck in that moment
A lifeless ice sculpture

You never stopped thinking
You’re convinced you’re insane
Pain won't let you forget
The day the blizzard came

You don’t want to trust
Your compassions run dry
You’ve got a tough outer shell
But I see fear in your eyes

Each day you push your thoughts
To the back of your mind
You smile and nod
You’re doing just fine

Congratulations my friend
They believe your facade
You know they can’t help
It’d hurt, it’s too hard

Though you’re aching, you’re safe
You survive on your own
You’re protecting yourself
'cos its all that you know

Aren’t you tired and weary?
Aren’t you longing for more?
Just listen cant you hear it?
The knock on your hearts door:
He IS the only way
The light when life turns dim
Open up the heavy door
Let love come flow back in

Don’t believe what you’ve heard
God hurts when you cry
He wants to take the pain
And wipe all tears from your eyes

Don’t give up on the search for rescue
He’s the one who can melt the snow
And don’t you dare doubt he loves you
For he will never let YOU go

Know he’s always watching over you
You are never really alone
He’s wanting you to survive this pain
So one day he can carry you home
