Frozen Kiss Poem by Anne Felicitas

Frozen Kiss

Two noses touching,
Two breaths mingling,
Warming each other’s lips,
Inhaling each other’s souls.

Two virgin mouths open,
Eagerly waiting for the entrance
Of a nimble tongue.
They stand apart at an eyelash’s length.

These lips are destined never to touch.
His teeth will never capture her soft lip,
And her lips will never massage his.

His tongue will never greet hers
In a wet caress, and her tongue
Will never dance with his. He will
Never steal the sin from her lips, and
She will never learn his mouth’s rhythm.
He will never feast on her muffled moans;
She will never feel his lip tremble against hers.

They are condemned to stay frozen
For eternity, never to taste love,
Never to satiate the appetite
Of a craving mouth.

They are encased in white space,
Their passions suspended,
Their release forbidden.

They exist, immobile, in eternal ache.
