Frozen With Hate Poem by Paula Glynn

Frozen With Hate

My heart has been filled with hate,
For I have been frozen with hate,
Like the ice and snow of winter,
Where my heart is closed from any warmth,
And where I only feel distaste and anger,
People turning on me and me hating them,
Because they don't seem like friends,
But they are now,
For now I know I was the one cold and indifferent,
I put my love away,
Where no one could see,
And where no one could thaw out my heart,
To fill it with love and appreciation,
For all the wonders of this lifetime,
Because life is very dear and precious,
But I couldn't see it,
Because I was frozen with hate,
I was frozen and alone out in the cold,
But now my heart lets the sun in,
And lets people's love shine within,
For I no longer have enemies,
And everyone means the world to me,
With every beat of this thawed out heart.
