Funny Fairy Tales: Cinderella Poem by Roann Mendriq

Funny Fairy Tales: Cinderella

Cinderella was very sweet,
Bluebirds worshipped at her feet;

Her smitten Prince loved her a lot,
She was to be his Queen consort;

Well, here is something you should know,
She had a bunion on her toe;

On the night of the grand ball,
She didn't feel her toe at all;

She donned her slipper of pure glass,
Skipped to the palace on soft grass;

At 9pm, still all was well,
But then her toe began to swell;

At 10pm, it began to ache,
she felt her toe would surely break;

At 11: 10 her toe turned red,
The ache had reached her pretty head;

At 12midnight, she chucked her shoe,
Told her Prince, "Can't dance with you! "

Off she raced down cobble street,
One shoe in hand on two barefeet;

Home, she soaked her foot in ice,
Those with bunions must sympathise;

Her Prince besotted, utterly smitten,
Arrived to watch the slipper fittin'...

And when he saw that ugly blister,
Fainted twice before he kissed her.

True love prevailed, at that grand ball,
He loved his Cindy, bunion and all.

Moral: Everyone has weaknesses, even pretty Princesses!
