Futile Thoughts Poem by Ahtesham Khan

Futile Thoughts

Rating: 4.3

I was sad coz I was dead
I was worried coz I had to be buried
My commitments were through
My color had turned to blue

Quaint was time when i was young
Elite were those whom i was among
Major in Economics, my Stats were good
My shoes were shiny and smile was crooked
Driven a Benz on silk route
Rolex on Wrist and Cavalli for suit
Accounts all loaded, loaded all shelves
Geez! ! I remember I flaunted myself

Tiger, they named me they called me Lion
They called me pal to get my sign
No one was ever so close enough
Smiles were phony, Laughter was Bluff
Moody as I was, had anybody to dance
Looking for slip-ups, never a second chance

Rolling on the time heap I began to realize
I was pretentious in an uptight disguise
My skin turned leathery And Scalp Less hirsute
Elbow deep they went in to take my last tooth
Cars were less heeded more fretted about health
Couldn't Eat my Ice cream until it was about to melt
Next moment, I realize I was near a bed
Looking down at me I was in its shed
No leeway for turning, no cozy cushions
Though not bad, except all wooden

I had it, had it enough
"Comon take me" i said "I am tough"
I widen my hands and began to wonder
No one was there whom I could say I had loved her

Had I got time to spare
I would have made it clear
My wishes were lame and ideals fake
I worked round the clock and had no rest
I wasn't there for many occasions
I prayed to God but for promotions
Moments were there when time could be fun
Alas! ! I skipped and took a u-turn

I was sad coz I was dead
I was worried coz I had to be buried

An amazing write! Honest self-realization, no holds barred, a tremendous voyage through a life of riches and fame, to find that nothing could give you the love that was never realized. Total truth and stark reality, an absolute wonder when place into a poem! Love this poem, it's genuineness! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
