Galileo's Eye Poem by Nick krakana

Galileo's Eye

From wood and string
His eye did sing
As he peered beyond
Our earthly ring

With a glass strength of twenty
For it's time was plenty
Galileo peeked thru
Heaven's gate

A keyhole of sorts

Was a curious venture
His reward was an oddity
Heresy passed down to he
From the powers that be

As it was then so it is now
In his twilight years
A passionate search
Was classed illegal somehow

Were those above him
So afraid or was it so
They really did not want to know

Those powers from
Away back then
Thought it be a dyer sin

To peer through
Heavens keyhole so great

He did see this greatness
Much larger than we
Galileo gave thought

There truly is
One greater than we
