Gazing At The Picture You Drew Of Yourself Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Gazing At The Picture You Drew Of Yourself

I like tracing with my finger
Your shoulder tattoo
When you're naked,
But such sightings are too few
And far between.

I'm awed by the innocence
That lingers in your eyes
Even though I know your life
Has been more difficult than mine.

I'm mesmerized by your voice
Even outside your apartment
When we're saying goodbye
In the shivering moonlight.

In another time and place,
I'd fall in love with you,
But we're both going to have to be content
With the knowledge that I want to.
