Gentle Country Ride Poem by Marilyn Lott

Gentle Country Ride

Rating: 4.5

Oh how I love in the springtime
To take a gentle country ride
After being cooped up all winter
Just enjoying the fresh countryside

Roll the windows down in the car
Through my hair the breeze will flow
Just like in the days gone by
Listening to country music as I go

Country is the best way there is
To slow down my driven pace
As cows watch me travel by
And my worries I can instantly erase

Nothing is more peaceful than cows
As they slowly chew their cud
Old barns and sweet yellow flowers
And the soppy spring barnyard mud

Oh yes, there is nothing I love more
Than to spend some time outside
On a beautiful sunny spring time day
Enjoying a gentle country ride!

The gentleness of the rythm matches the subject very well, very relaxing!
