Getting Old Poem by Juan Olivarez

Getting Old

Rating: 5.0

The worst thing about getting old,
Is getting old it seems.
Somebody said and I've heard told,
That all thats left to you is dreams.

The worst thing about getting old,
Is getting old it's said.
No longer are you quite so bold,
All you want to do is lay in bed.

The worst thing about getting old,
Is getting old I see.
Your bones hurt daily from the cold,
And pain has no remedy.

The worst thing about getting old,
Is growing old alone.
You'd trade all your hoarded gold,
To have someone with you at home.
