Give Us Each A John
john was jesus' friend
close, a pal
knew each other's souls
the strong yet sensitive kind
God smiled on their love
one Spirit in two hearts
affection below, above
i trust john's word,
'disciple whom jesus loved'
i trust what john heard
i stick with him and jesus
and emily
away from the lemming herd
Father, give each of us a 'john'
loving friend
to keep us on the mend
