Gold Digger And The Golden Goose Poem by nimal dunuhinga

Gold Digger And The Golden Goose

Rating: 5.0

Though the miner digs for gold he never gets gold; only the weekend poor wage he counts with tears
And the gold runs to the tycoon.
The poor man's golden goose never lays golden eggs.

*[ According to the ancient Greek fable, the owner killed the goose to get all the gold at once.]

Very sad, but also very true. Gold is not always awarded on the basis of merit. But a man can take pride in doing his very best. Take care. Warm regards, Sandra
