Gold Or Silver Shovels Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Gold Or Silver Shovels

A deeper hole to dig it.
Dug deeper done to do.
Gets to become a deeper hole.

Regardless of the few,
Picked, selected and chosen...
To use exclusively,
Distributed gold or silver shovels.

And this to do...
Depending upon social status.
Their impressive to express qualifications.
Addressing whose elbows they have touched.
While together digging pretentiously,
A hole
Dug to dig it deeper!
With a proper etiquette no one denies.
