They came upon the city of gold
Not fully understanding why or how
They followed their hearts and did what was told
Always remembering to bow
Hand in hand they walked towards the city gate
Never looking back at that once dark sky
Forward and forward refusing to hesitate
Not once asking why
Approaching the city they started to hear
A man crying aloud
Telling them they shouldn't be here
For they are not allowed
Onward they went towards the city of gold
Never asking how or why
They watched the city turn brittle and old
They heard the old man cry
They woke from their dream
Under a dark cold sky
Refusing to believe what they have seen
They cried and cried and cried.
