Golf Widows Poem by Elisabeth Wingle

Golf Widows

Rating: 4.8

It seems a waste of time to me
To hit a small ball, off a tee
But summer or winter
He misses his dinner
and that's a nuicence for me

nuicence...............this did not look 'right' to me. :) am i being one? ? [i see Wes already told you about this] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - nui·sance ˈn(y) o͞osəns/ noun noun: nuisance; plural noun: nuisances a person, thing, or circumstance causing inconvenience or annoyance. an unreasonable landlord could become a nuisance synonyms: annoyance, inconvenience, bore, bother, irritation, problem, trouble, trial, burden; pest, plague, thorn in one's side/flesh; informalpain, pain in the neck, hassle, bind, drag, chore, aggravation, headache, nudnik I find these long journeys a nuisance antonyms: blessing Law an unlawful interference with the use and enjoyment of a person's land. noun: private nuisance; plural noun: private nuisances Law see public nuisance. ==================================== Wishing For A Different Outcome Perhaps, though I think your fine poem was in jest, ..... you may now wish you'd just asked Play your best? , .... rather than pester him when he got home from golf, ..... 'cause now he's passed, gone, and way, way far off..... [But, if he was a religious man, he might now be play-..... ing with the rest of the angels, making a great lay-.... up shot down the green, as God takes in the scene, ..... though Mrs. God, 'on golf', has never been too keen.] As I tell my mate when she says: You eat too fast! , I eat too fast, AND too much, 'cause it might not last! And when I am finally dead and from you departed, Hell will have so little food! ! No one there EVER farted. bri :)

Each 'golf widow' should count her blessing... that it's with golf, NOT women, he is messing.... with! Or with other men ['these days'] for that matter, ... other than at golf [or beer & peanuts, getting fatter].
